i have a cigar ashtray and lighter with tray . they are either copper or brass. there is three legs on each one with black handles. they are made in the usa by )A.R..S.(. they set on a tray.

The two brothers who moved into the apartment below mine smoke nasty cigars for hours on end, every fricking day!

The hallways reek, and because they are too lazy to take the cigars outside, the smoke makes its way through every crack and crevice and into MY apartment. Every square inch of my apartment smells like an ashtray, but worse. Even the freshly laundered clothes that I must wear to work with total embarassment.

There is not one single room in my apartment that does not reek now. No amount of air filters or Febreeze can take out the stench. The nasty smell gives me a constant headache and the smoke irritates my throat to the point that I have laryngitis.

My landlord refuses to do anything about it. And these guys are nasty, so they don't care. What can I do? Do I have any recourse? My lease isn't up until July and I can't live with it until then. No one would sublet this stinky place, either.
By the way, as I know laws are different for various cities, I live in Chicago.
I know it's not illegal to smoke in ones own home. I get that. It wouldn't even bother me so much if they were cigarettes, but these are cigars. Have you ever lived next to TWO people who both smoke cigars? It is the worst thing to breathe in day in and day out. And why don't I have any RIGHTS to live in MY OWN HOME without being forced to breathe stinky smoke that is making me physically SICK?!!

Nothing, it is not illegal to smoke in your own home.

I saw dis in "What I Like About You" tv show. Her new boss smelled so she gave her boss a gift basket with perfumes & lotions & Body washes & stuff like dat.

As for the bad breath, walk by the person, pop a mint in your mouth, den offer them one. It worked with me & my friend. She had no idea. If she duzent accept it, put mints in da basket too.

But wat i think is dat you should just tell da person. say something like..."I dont wanna be rude or disrespectful, but you have a sorta small unpleasent smell to you. Sorry if i sound kinda mean but i just wanted 2 let u kno privatley b4 ppl start tlkin bout it." or sumthin like dat.

but then again it could be a disease cuz i saw dat on da Tyra Banks show. Dis one girl had a disease of smellin bad....

I had this ashtray for 6 years and it's name is guadalupe..its like one of those little rastafarian guys with a cigar in his hand..me and my friends are weird and like to name them and today we got a new one and can't think of a proper name for him..any suggestions especially comedic ones would be great

I found a silver bowl ash tray with a coin in the bottom for Philipp V with a coat of arms. Bottom of ashtray coin Hispania RVM REX 1617, bowl has handla like a cup with another coin bent to hold cigar or cigarette (?). Pure silver not plated. Found in junk antique shop for $5.00.

Here is a link to the only Philip III coin I could find on eBay. The coin is low grade, so not much detail. A cob coin with a full date would be worth a lot more, if genuine. Philip V was king of Spain almost 100
years later.

The Mint mark and assayers initial would be to the left of the coat of arms. The denomination in reales would be to the right of the coat of arms. These coins are rather rare with date, mint mark, assayer, denomination, and legend all visible.

Here is a Philip V cob coin presently on eBay. The mint mark (Mo = Mexico City) is visible.
