Cigarette?
The world we live in. by Fátima Ramos

I am not a smoker but I tried a cigarette at a Christmas party last month. I felt "high" but it went away after a few seconds. I could see why smoking is so addictive. Smokers obviously go back repeatedly for that short-lived rush.

If you're a nonsmoker, did you ever smoke a cigarette and enjoy it? I am not going to start smoking, but I wonder if other nonsmokers have tried one and thought it felt great, instead of gross like they were expecting.

the buzz that you felt was a nicotine buzz and that only happens when you haven't had one in a long time, or the first time you smoke, it never really happens at all when your a regular smoker, what we are addicted to is the nicotine, nothing to do with that short buzz cuz we never really feel it.

What size cigarette did the old Laredo cigarette machine fill?
raiderz 1052

I remember as a kid helping my adult cousin make his own cigarettes from a Laredo kit, which had the tobacco in a tin, paper tubes with filter ends and the plug-type filters with cigarette packs for the finished product to go into.

I recall many times watching TV with my cousin while making cigarettes with his ingenious machine, and the interesting conversations we would have during these earlier times.

The Laredo machine was an ingenious system as it was simple, quick and easy to use, and I've gotten to wondering what size of cigarette tube (that is the part you fill with tobacco which has the plug filter and tobacco inserted into it) was filled?

Back in those years (1970's) I doubt there was much variety in sizes like are available today, but I really don't remember these sorts of details from so long ago. (I'm pretty sure the machine could only handle one size tube)

Does anybody recall the length and width (diameter) of paper tubes the Laredo cigarette machines filled?

They were the 'King Sized' cigarettes. The 'regular' were the ones with NO filter, and 'King Sized' were slightly longer because of the filters. You can still get 'tubes' with filters, and a 'machine' to make the cigarettes, but I don't think you can get a 'pack' to put them in ... and the cigarettes are still 'King Sized, unless you ask for '100s' ... and then I don't know how you 'fill' that extra space ... maybe it's just that the filter is longer, or maybe they sell a 'longer' machine ... and all tubes have the same 'diameter' ... it's the same as a 'tailor made' (storebought packs) cigarette is today... the 'regular' ones, not the 'extra thins.'
AND THAT is me knowing FAR TOO MUCH about smoking, because I am TRYING TO QUIT.

What cigarette is known to burn the slowest?
Cigarette on Street

I always smoke a cigarette with my roommate before bed. They only last about 2 minutes. I know there are cigarettes that last longer. Should I just get longer cigarettes or do you know of a brand that lasts longer. Also, I pack my cigarettes to make them last longer...if there are any other methods you know of, let me know. Thanks!

Roll your own cigarettes!! They are way cheaper, longer lasting, and taste better. They do require some patience, though. You can buy a little machine and cigarette "tubes" with the filters already on, and with a little practice you will soon be making a far superior cigarette than you can buy. Check out tobacco shops for the stuff to make 'em.

How can I remove cigarette smell from closet and bedroom?
Necklace Nicotine in colours//C10H14N2 Necklace in Colours

I live in a townhouse & our next door neighbor is a heavy smoker. Somehow even with windows closed, the smell from their room manage to get in my closet and bedroom. I hate that my clothes smell like cigarette and I dont smoke and allergic to smoke. Aside from running the air purifier in the bedroom, I need some tips on how to keep my closet from smelling like cigarette smoke. Thanks!

The best thing you can do is seal off the wall from your side. I'd paint the wall with a semi-gloss or high gloss enamel paint. Shiny walls don't have pores, so no air or smoke will filter through the drywall. Flat, eggshell and satin paints will still allow smoke to come through.

Next, use a Quad clear caulk to seal off the top and bottom of your walls and your closets. You don't want regular white caulk because of the mess, and silicone caulks have a tendency to crack and peel away. But Quad (available from siding supply companies) is serious caulk that will seal off your side of the wall very well.

Lastly, if you keep a little pan of Arm and Hammer carpet deodorizer in the bottom of your closet it will both absorb smells and refresh what's already there.

How do I get cigarette smoke out of a chest of drawers?
Festival go-er.

Bought a beautiful cherry chest of drawers. What I didn't realize was that the previous owner was a smoker. The insides of the drawers have contaminated my clothes with cigarette smoke. It's disgusting. How do I get the cigarette residue out of the wood inside the drawers?

Kleeneze do a nicotine remover.
Pledge does a soapy wood cleaner which also removes nicotine.
When dry, line your drawers with perfumed liners.
