I got a cigar box at an antique shop, which they didn't know anything about this box. I didn't pay too much for it. I blown away by the hand curved details on the box. It seems so old and on the bottom of box reads HECHO A MAHO HONDURAS C.A ( Used a red hot metal to curve the above words)
I just want to learn more about this box or is there a history or story behind the curvings.

The cigar box is wooden and empty. It says Brooks & Co's Exceptional Tebson quality very mild corona size. Then at the bottom it says none genuine without this signature, which is signed T.E. Brooks + Co. There is a broken green seal that says 50 cigars. I bought it in St. Augustine and am planning to make it into a music box for my mom. I paid $8 for it and I'm just curious as to a guess about how old it is?

I have two cedar cigar boxes--one La Carolina, one Don Kiki. How do I find out how much they might be worth? I was given these boxes by an ex-boyfriend, and would like to sell them, but not undersell. One is dated and has small drawers, the other just has a top that lifts off. I've done searches, but no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks.

How do you get the frets right on a cigar box guitar? Mine is not intonated very well.?
I used the 24.5 inch diagram off of cigarboxguitars.com and printed it out then affixed it to the neck that I made but the sound is not in tune. Is there an easier way to put frets on cigar box guitars so I can actually get the frets intonated right so that you can play chords on it...

Measure the distance from the bottom of the nut to the 12th fret.
Add 3/16"
This distance should equal the distance from 12th fret to bridge saddle. If it doesn't then you'll have to move the saddle and/or bridge.
My boyfriend was looking at cigar boxes a while back that were unique & most importantly, locked. He couldnt find any that actually locked though (he said he has seen them). So for one of my Christmas gifts to him, I wanted to get him a locking cigar box. Any idea's of where I could find one? any internet sites?
