Am looking to buy a Felt bike for every day use and a bit of play. Are they good bikes to have? The model I'm looking at is the Felt Q220 2008.
Cheers!
Felt is a well respected bike maker. They make bikes to fit every niche from entry level to very high quality racing machines.
The Felt Q220 is a decent quality, entry level mountain bike. It has decent components and should give you several years of use. It isn't the type of bike you'd want to go racing on, but for everyday use and some playtime it should serve you well.
Hope this helps.
This is an edit of two riders from Felt Bikes, Josh Betley and Jeff Wescott. They make a good team riding stret and this proves it.
I have moved to Abu Dhabi leaving my DTB at Mumbai. I look for trek racing bicycle as the spares will be easily available in india as well, when i move back with the bicycle. i failed to search a shop in Abu Dhabi. except wolfi who is located at Dubai. can anyone help me out to locate a store in Abu Dhabi.
You can ask any person whom you know and they would surely be able to tell you the shop.
They're all fine - just depends on the model. A lot of teeny-bop ween-pods think WTP are the greatest thing on the Planet. Honestly, they know little - it's just what they THINK is cool. Just trying to be the posers they are, which comes with immaturity.
I currently own a 2007 Felt Fuse with all stock parts. I am starting to get into biking and want to know if there are some custom parts out there that will make my bike lighter. Especially the back end. It is really heavy. Can I take off my gyro? Is it worth it?
shadow makes axle nuts made out of aluminum, half the weight of a traditional steel nut, they also make hollow stem bolts. a lot of companies make stems that are machined like crazy which is always a good way to loose weight on the front end. if your rims are 48's, try 36's. yes take your gyro off if you dont need it and instead run a linear slic cable. take your pegs off if you dont use them. if you can afford it run a titanium spindle for your cranks. run a smaller driver instead of the 12 you are running, a good gear ratio is 25-9. youll have less chain, a smaller sprocket. buy a pivotal seat and seat post. folding tires are much lighter. run plastic pedals, they're just as grippy, cheaper, and much lighter. loose your chain tensioner, cut your axles down to the nuts. companies also make various titanium parts for your bike as well but are not really necessary, do all what i mentioned and youll get your bike down to 24 25 pounds. eventually when you progress youll want to grab a pro frame, forks and bars which are all much lighter because its all butted metal
What size cranks fit felt bmx bikes? I beleive the bike is a 06 or 07 model.
Thanks
i'm looking at an 2008 FELT FW40 and it seems very nice. i sat on it and it felt good. im just wondering why they would use a 3-pc crankset and tiagra parts with sora parts?
it is made cheaply? will this bike last me?
Felt has made very nice bikes for years now. All bikes have a 3 piece crank. The mixing of parts is common in all manufacturers as they try to get bikes into certain price points.
If you can save a little bit and wait a little longer I would wait and step up to the next level bike. Typically the only reason a person would buy sora parts on the bike is because they want the price point and aren't sure if they are going to enjoy riding. If you know you like riding and want something that will last (components wise, the frame will be fine) step up to the next model and get FW35, the full 105 grouppo is going to be a world of difference in shift quality and will wear better than the tiagra or sora components.
Talk to the shop your looking at the FW40 at and see if they have a year old FW35. If so you can normally get a slight deal on last years model.
