I have a 2007 Subaru Impreza. And the other day when I plugged in a tire inflator 12v it worked for a few and then stopped. I even tried three other devices. I checked the fuse and even swapped it. I get the clock and the light around the 12v outlet but nothing when I plug things even. Even a cigarette lighter. Dealer says it would take a couple of hours to look at the problem. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you in advance.

Looking for a car cigarette lighter adapter for Dell Inspiron 1521 it needs to be an adapter to plug into my normal wall adapter! Do you know where I could find this at! It can be a universal {at least 19.5Volts}! Is it expensive?

Actually, it could make a difference in noise interference. It is always advisable to run power directly to the battery, if possible. Also, if your radio is peaked up at all it should perform better with a direct power connection than what a cigarette lighter will be able to provide. While both will provide approx. 12 volts, the amperage will vary between what the cigarette lighter will be able to carry and what you can get directly from the battery, therefore impeding the performance output of the radio.

I seem to have a shorted 12v adapter in my 2000 GM. It has not functioned since I bought the vehicle. What is the cheapest, best way to go about fixing the problem. I don't have any blown fuses and don't have any other electrical issues. Thanks

The first thing to do is to check to see if there is power to the center of the unit. If there is power and the socket does not work, you have a ground problem. If you have no power, either a fuse is blown or you have a wire loose.

Remove the socket assembly and make sure that the hot and ground wires are connected. Check for power at the hot wire, and continuity on the ground! If they are both good, replace the socket assembly!

If you have no power, you will have to trace the hot wire back to the fault in the circuit!

i have accidently touch the + and ground from the cigarette lighter adapter wires, now that doesn't work and my digital clock, and my other lights aren't so soild

what can i do to repair, i have 1991 camry XD v6 ,
do i have to change other fuse ??

yes you probably blew a fuse. look in your owners manual it should tell you witch one and how to do it. good luck
