No. Highly dangertous as wall socket is 110v -120v in US and 230v - 240v in UK. Resulting fire should consume the house in just a few minutes. To do it you need an inverter which is expensive. Cheaper to buy a mains powered compressor

The cigarette lighter plug in my friend's 2001 C320 seems to be smaller than other cars.
I have a Mercedes 300e. I haven't compared the lighter plug to other vehicles but I have used a standard AC/DC converter in the lighter, and it fits perfectly, so it must be standard size. I've also plugged in my cell phone for charging and it fits the lighter perfectly. But that doesn't mean all years and models are the same...
I have an air pump I plug into a cars cigarette lighter to inflate my bicycle tires. The instruction page said it will work with a battery charger, too. What kind of battery charger would I use? I don't see how it would plug into a battery charger. I do not have a car, so it would be very helpful to be able to use a wall outlet.
They mean a car battery charger, but these normally have crocodile clips to connect to a car battery, you would also need a car type cigarette lighter socket to connect to the charger or remove the plug and connect straight to the charger.
There are cigarette socket to mains plug adaptors available on ebay but they probably won't supply enough current to run the pump.
It may be easier to get a cycle floor pump

yes you could but dependin on the item it would drain batteries pretty quickly if you need to why not buy an accessory socket and wire it straight to the battery via a fuse of course then run the cable thru the bulkhead of the car to the area of the compartment you want wont cost much above £10 for the parts and maybe 10 minutes to fit it

Freightliner Classic and Century have 4 lighter plugs. Plus, most truck stops sell splitters that can take one plug and turn it into 2 or 3 outlets. There is a plug in front, a plug for the TV, a plug under the desk unit and a plug at the head of the bunk.

Your best bet is to log onto Pricegrabber.com or one of the other price comparison sites and look for the best deal at the various electronics dealers. I'm sure you'll find a wide range of prices. Look for well known brands rather than generic aftermarket parts makers that make junk...........
