is it easy and anyone know how you fit a cigarette lighter in a car?

If you're talking about what I think, the small lighter you plug into the power outlet in the car? It's easy, and if you want one, go to your local bodyshop or store like pep boys. They might even throw you one for free, sure they have plenty of them around.

I want to put in a cigarette lighter socket in my boat so that I can plug in a Garmin GPS 12 navigator. That way I can use the boats car battery instead of 4 x AA batteries wich I would continually have to replace(only 24 hrs power). I could have the GPS system running continually as back up. I need a simple diagram on how to fit this cigarette lighter socket or simple instructions. Nothing too technical or you will lose me.

I recently figured out that my cigarette lighter isn't working on my 90 Toyota pickup. I don't know if there is a fuse thats gone out or if its the whole entire lighter. I really need the lighter for cell phone chargers and other things.

Just put the fuse from lighter in place of another fused system of equal amperage and see if that system still works. If it does fuse is good.

Another thing is that its possible, whether it was used or not, that the plug might be corroded or rusted. Especially if it was used. The extreme heat from the heating coil being shorted out can cause aot of corrosion.

I have 2003 Dodge Stratus, and the cigarette lighter has stopped working, i checked the fuses and they are fine, and idea on how the hell to change it?
I'm pretty sure I have to change the cigarette ligher, any help on how?

go to your local auto part store and just buy a new lighter. If that doesn't work you will need to replace the actual socket

I have a 2003 Acura TL. There is a power source where i could plug things in such as a GPS or charge my phone. Is that same hole where those things get plugged in called a cigarette lighter? Does it really shoot flames and light a cigarette on fire. I dont see any fire. How can I light a cigar with the car cigarettes lighter? Where is it?

Most new cars come with accessory power port aka cigarette lighter, there is very little differences, both supply 12 volt power from the plug, it is how it transfer the power that makes it a cig lighter or a power source.
Your GPS or cell phone will have a voltage reducer that will reduce the voltage from 12 volts to 5 volts for most electronic devices these days.
The cig lighter plug heats up much like your counter top stove that have the coils, it does not have fires but builds up heat through supplying power to ground creating aresistantt that gets red hot.

It'scheaperr to buy a good lighter since a lot of people have been know to drop the cig lighter and having an accident looking for the damn thing while driving. A lighter issaferr since there is no fire once your hands are off of it.
