I've been given the ST Dupont James Bond lighter - the one with the bullet but I can't seem to light it. I've tried as much as I can think of but apparently just opening it and pressing the top doesn't do it. So how do I get the flame out of this type of lighter?
I'll have you know condoms are not very practical on a lighter, so not fireproof...
Pop the top, and spin the spindle on the side of the lighter. That causes the spark for the light!
Also, ensure that it is filled with the proper fluid. St Duponts have tiny cannisters of lighter fluid that you can purchase from higher end tobacco shops.
enjoy!

My lighter has broken but i love it and need a new spring on the striking mechanism.
Send it back for repair.

Or you can try taking it to a smokeshop. They might be able to do something.
i have one st.dupont but i got a butane refill in walmart but i dont know how to make it work? i did try to refill it but it still not have light!! and i am stuck with it right now! i got this lighter is 900$ help!!!
you can't refill with the regular butane from WalMart.
get online and buy the real ST Dupont lighter. Look for the color inside the refill cap and get the right gas color for your lighter. and the important thing is that it fits perfectly for your lighter. good luck!
Can I use ordinary gas refill
Doesn't look like it, seems you have to use these:

Hi all,
I was just browsing through eBay, and I found a Dupont lighter starting at around $29 (AUD), and I ended up winning the auction for $36.
I looked through the seller's feedback, and even though they joined eBay three years ago, they only have one positive feedback comment - and the listing is private. Now, I checked the profile of the user who left positive the positive feedback, and every purchase of theirs was a private listing, also.
Now I'm sure you're thinking that it's dodgy enough, but it gets worse. There are listings of similar items, with the EXACT same item descriptions, from other sellers, with the same dodgy feedback.
So, knowing that this might be a dodgy transaction, I decided that if I were to win the auction, I'd pay by PayPal, but that's a no go. They said their account was having some issues. So, naturally, they offered the cash on delivery option, which sounds better.
Does anyone have some advice on what I should do about the situation?
By the sounds of everything I wouldn't bother, If you were sure of the site then you wouldn't be asking on here.
Let it go. there will be a better seller at a later date.
