I'm traveling and giving lighters as gifts. Lighters banned on airplanes, so I'm wondering if there's another way to send the lighters.
Ok mailing them is a risk and yes you could get in trouble, depending on what kind of lighters they are you can put them in your checked baggage. The Zippo lighter are fine as long as they are in the original packaging and says there's no fuel in them, I really have to say it's your best bet to put them in luggage, you have a 50/50 chance on having them when you get where your going.
On some types of lighters (not flint lighters) you pull the trigger and it makes a spark. How does it create the spark?
It's called the piezoelectric effect. Certain materials like crystals when you put stress on them they exchange that pressure into a static electric potential.
It's kind of like rubbing your shoes on the carpet in winter and touching a metal door knob, except the crystals in those lighters is more efficient at accumulating the charge and making a bigger spark.

I really want to get a zippo lighter. I am 14, I dont smoke, but I like to do lighter tricks and burn stuff. How old do you have to be , and what stores can you buy zippo lighters at?
In maryland.
18. And now you know why. So 14 year old kids that like to "burn stuff" don't get their hands on it.
I'm looking to buy the limited edition lighters available now in variety of stores. Problem is, none sold where I live. Need help finding a good website to get lighters cheap for my collection.
hahaha BIC.com sells "... instruments for characterizing either the dilute colloid regime or as concentrates." I don't think that guy buys anything at all from bic.com.

you're welcome
I'm looking for a lighter, a good one for a reasonable price but I haven't been able to find anything outside the usual grocery with a share of run-of-the-mill lighters. Any help would be appreciated.
Zales does that.
