How to clean a smoking bowl?
(Untitled)

I have a bowl that I wanted to clean (yes I smoke weed with it) and I was wondering what the best way to clean it would be. I've heard one way is letting it sit in rubbing alcohol for a few hours.

rubbing alcohol works well, but you're still going to have to put in some elbow grease. Keep in mind, things won't be quite 'the same' after... and make sure you rinse it real good before you use it again, alcohol is flamable!!! lmao

Is their pure salvinorin A. in the ash above the screen from the bowl after smoking Salvia?
(Untitled)

Salvinorin can be extracted into alcohol. or it can be extracted by heat. Therefore, would it be in the ash after smoking a bowl of Salvia Divinorum?

I am unsure if their is anybody who can answer this. But I hope that I can get somebody out their who knows a little bit about Salvia Divinorum the plant and Salvinorin A. which is the active ingredient of Salvia Divinorum.

Yes, there would be trace amounts left in the ashes if you used a normal bic-style lighter - as these are not hot enough to vaporize all the salvinorin. It would only be trace amounts though (most of the ash is just burned leaf material), and it would hardly be worth saving. It might be possible to extract the extra salvinorin by using alcohol... but again - it would hardly be worth the trouble. Just go buy some at your local head shop.

Salvia is crazy stuff, and I don't recommend using it very often. It affects me in a powerful way, and not really a good one. Usually I just get scared because I have no clue what the hell is going on.

Anyway, good luck - and enjoy.

How bad do you smell after smoking a bowl?
wake & bake with my buddy

I've recently been wondering how much I smell when I return from smoking my piece. I can't ask my friends who just smoked with me, and I can't ask anyone in the house.

It's probably about 30 degrees outside, and I'm pretty sure the smell doesn't stay on you as well when its colder. It's not extremely potent weed either, just mids. Any help is appreciated.

Ehh if your outside then you prob wont smell to bad.
I just never go inside immediately and stay out a little until i think the smell is probably gone.

Can you bring a smoking bowl/pipe with you when you travel?
(Untitled)

This might be a kind of dumb question either way, but I bought a nice smoking bowl here and I haven't used it. I plan on bringing it back with me to north carolina and stash it somewhere in my checked luggage. Do you think there will be any complications to this??

If it is a kind of pipe/bowl you can buy at your departure country and at your destination country, yes.
If the kind of pipe is not for sale in either country, you run a real risk of loosing it.

If it is, as I assume, a pipe to be used with weed, the American border control, customs as well as drugs enforcement crews, can search you very thoroughly. That is not something to look forward to, but it is your risk.

Halloween Prop Help: Smoking Cauldron Candy Bowl?
(Untitled)

I've searched the net far and wide and haven't come up with anything satisfactory.

I want the ToTs to reach into a smoky cauldron of candy. However, all cauldrons that come with smoking machines already included are too small.

I want to have a cauldron wide and deep enough to have a smoking mechanism (or dry ice) at the bottom, and a colander/sieve filled with candy hanging from the lip.

Using a fog machine would require fog juice, and I don't want to expose the kids and candy to that.

Using dry ice would be ideal, but most cauldrons are made of cheapy plastic that i'm sure would freeze and crumble with the extreme cold that dry ice delivers. Unless I kept the dry ice in a separate bowl at the bottom of the cauldron? Still, what can I use that won't fall apart or shatter?

How can I achieve this prop while protecting the prop itself, the candy, the children, and myself?

Smoke AND lights would be preferable, but if it's too dangerous then I can do without.
P.S. I will be posting this in the Halloween section too,

P.S.S. I am not aproposed in building this prop from the bottom up. Any suggestions are welcome. I have access to lots of tools and I am quite handy, creative, and determined.
I would want to have the candy high enough not to freeze the candy or endanger the children of frost bite.
If dry ice is too dangerous, what alternative method do you suggest. Or if dry ice could be used, how could it be done safely. i.e. no frost bite and burn.
Oooh, dutch oven. That's a good idea Chris. I was thinking, I could cut out the bottom of my cauldron, and nestle it on top. I could have one of those expandable veggie basket steamer things on the lip of the cauldron and put the candy on top of that. What to you guys think? Will the smoke actually reach the top?

I see there will be a lot of trial and error here..

Grab a "dutch oven", as it is cast iron and will be able to withstand extreme cold. If you plan on using it for anything else later on, you will still want a barrier between the dry ice/water and pot.

You will also want to separate the candy and children's hands from the dry ice/water mixture as touching dry ice can "burn" you. You can use either chicken wire or a thin plywood sheet with holes to let the gas escape and keep the candy/fingers from getting too close to the dry ice.

Dutch ovens also come in many sizes, and usually with a nice heavy lid, so if you want to "prime" it before kids begin to show up, you can put the lid on to trap the gases inside!
