I am giving friends and family Christmas Tins filled with treats this year. It's easier on the budget and they love my baking.
What should I make to put in the tins?
I am thinking rice crispy treats (decorated),choc chip cookies, brownies and sugar cookies (decorated)
Any ideas or simple recipes would be appreciated!!!
THANKS FOR ALL THE WONDERFUL ANSWERS!!!!!
I am doing tins this year too! I will just give you my list of what I am putting in them. All of my recipes I got at Allrecipes.com

and then I will just roll out sugar cookies, but keep it simple, I will only cut out snowflakes, frost them in white frosting and sprinkle clear and blue sprinkles.
I wanted to do some classics but add a good amount of variety and have a twist on things. All of the candy are tested recipes and very good!!
Have fun!!

To save money this year I will be baking christmas shaped cookies for my friends. Does any one know where I can find some nice (tasteful) Christmassy tins in which to place said cookies?

I'm baking cookies this year to mail to relatives for the holidays. I want to send a nice variety and I'm looking for ideas of different cookies. Of course, I'll include choc chip and peanut butter kiss cookies, but I'm looking for something new to try. Any creative ideas out there?? I will be mixing the different cookies in the tins, so I need recipes for cookies that will store well with other types of cookies. Thanks for any ideas!
I love the popcorn in those tins you buy at Christmastime that have the pretty scenes on them.
Actually, there is one thing I have disliked my entire life.
Why is the combination in the tins:
3 oz. butter popcorn
4 oz. cheese popcorn
17 oz. caramel corn
I hate caramel corn! Why is there so much more caramel corn than the delicious butter and cheese flavors?
its because they know everyone dosen't like carmel corn
so they put more in it so your keep buying more tins to get what you want.
its like what they do with jars of jelly beans
they put 3 or 4 good flavored jelly beans
and they fill the rest with those gross popcorn and marshmallow beans
its just a way to get more money.
Where can I get cheap, empty Christmas tins? (to fill home made cookies with)
Resale shops often sell them for a dime to a quarter each.
If you want to get an early start for next year, check out garage sales next summer - you can sometimes even get them for free.
It doesn't say on the bottom!
Yes, just dry them with a towel when the dishwasher stops. This will keep them from rusting.
